Numerous fires, such as the Tehachapi fire, make for state of emergency

State of emergency happens when considering Tehachapi fire and all other Californian fires

. The Tehachapi fire, also known as the west fire, has been contained 25 percent. Only 5 percent of the bull fire has been contained. Firefighters and containment finally are getting used by cash-strapped California through this state of emergency.

Info on the Tehachapi fire

Tuesday was when the Tehachapi fire started around a small community which is only 10 miles south of Tehachapi. After flames started consuming the town, Old West Ranch residents were forced to leave. . A grinder was in dry grass while people started cutting scrap metal in it, beginning the fire. . Approximately 150 other homes are confronted.

Bull Fire background

16,000 acres have already been burnt by the Bull Fire which is burning in Kernville, CA. Eight homes and six outbuildings burned in just the first day of the fire. Thus far, we have seen two firefighters get hurt. The cause of the Bull Fire has yet to be determined, and it is only about 5 percent contained.

The cost of fighting wildfires

In budget-strapped California, fighting wildfire is an incredibly expensive proposition. Now it is harder than ever to sacrifice the human cost and financial cost. Fighting fires each day costs between $1 million and $2.5 million. More than $500 million is spent on an “average” wildfire fighting year. California assigns these costs to many different agencies. The California State Budget does most of it. This covers fire fighting and nothing else. The State of Emergency means that California can spend the money before they really know where the money is coming from.
